| Dear Sirs |
7th February 2001 |
I feel I must write to you to say how much I enjoyed your performance of Yeomen of the Guard
in Bath last night. The performance was superb. I note from the programme that your autumn tour
is The Pirates of Penzance. This is my favourite G&S work, I think, because it was the first
performance I ever saw in a theatre. I can only hope that the tour will include Bath, if not I will
be very disappointed!!
Until such time as I can see one of your wonderful performances again, I will content myself with
The Mikado on video.
Thank you once again for a brilliant evening of entertainment.
Yours sincerely

| Dear Carl Rosa Opera |
August 2000 |
This is just a quick note to say thank you for a most enjoyable evening at the Hackney Empire.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to see a pre-tour dress rehearsal of the Yeomen of the
Guard and was thoroughly delighted by the up-to-date jokes which Simon Buttreiss carried
off perfectly.
I hope you are not offended by my next comment, but I was so totally surprised by the quality
of the production knowing full well that Carl Rosa Opera does not receive any government funding
and relies solely upon private donations and self funding. I am sure some of the other more
well-known opera companies/houses could learn a thing or two from yourselves.
Thank you again and please keep up the excellent work.
Best regards
